Nordhavn Recommendations
Nordhavn is a new, modern and waterfront neighborhood in Copenhagen. I happen to live here, and these are my favorite things to do with my kids in my backyard!
This is an amazing urban, rooftop playground built on top of a parking garage. Get great views of the harbor and neighborhood from up here! You can climb the two impressive wrap around staircases to get to the top.
Marvel at the beauty of the Portland Towers and harbor bath, while your kids slide on the cement hills littered in the public square underneath them.
Swim all year long in the public open water swimming pool in the middle of the ocean
Amazing bakery in the heart of Nordhavn. They make my favorite fastelavnsboller in Febraury!
This newly built apartment complex has steps that go straight into the ocean, and is the best harbor swim spot for toddlers. (Swim at your own risk, it’s not technically allowed here, but everyone does it)
Like all the recycling centers in Denmark, this one has a swap room you can browse, full of people's things that they no longer want, but are too nice to throw away. Like a free library for stuff!
One-On-One with 3 Year Old in Copenhagen
I’m trying to spend more one on one time with my 3 year old. Here’s a list of places I’ve been bringing him.
This is a tower with a great view. It’s mostly one giant spiral ramp (one flight of stairs at the top) that strollers can go up. My kids love running up and down. They also have an attached event space with exhibits.
The main library has an entire floor dedicated to kids, where shoes are not allowed. Very cozy!

This is a fun public square right downtown with a concrete modern playground. It's "new meets old vibe" is classic of Copenhagen. Grab lunch across the street from Torvehallerne open market.
This playground is right downtown in a really pretty spot. Definitely stop for a play here, if you're sight seeing downtown with kids!
