The Coaster ride from Oceanside all the way to Downtown San Diego (Santa Fe Depot) is one of the most beautiful things you can do to see the scenery. Make it a day by booking a round trip ticket, and making some stops!
I like to start from the lower parking lot, walk up the hill, and pick a route until I get to the beach access- then I walk back via the beach! when you’re at the top, keep your eye on the ocean as you may see dolphins!
One of the coolest things I’ve ever done in San Diego was a Bi Plane ride! Starting in Miramar, the pilot took us all the way from Coronado to North County and back- he even flew right over my childhood home!
One of the most famous hiking destinations in San Diego is Poway’s Mount Woodson and Potato Chip Rock! Will you brave the chip for a photo as proof of your adventure? Go early to beat the inland heat!

This is something you can do when you take the Coaster up and down the coast! Get off at the Oceanside transit center, and spend some time walking the pier, shopping, and dining. Don’t forget to go by the Top Gun house!
Lofty Coffee has shops up and down coastal San Diego. Beans are brewed in my hometown, Encinitas. I love coming here for breakfast when I visit, and I always grab a bag of "keeping it classy" espresso to bring home!
The San Diego County fair takes place in Del Mar each year starting in early June and ending around the 4th of July. My favorite things at the fair are the foodie days (discounted bites to try more), and the exhibits.
I love hiking and birding here! With incredible views around every corner, this very easy trail goes for miles, and has many starting points. Stop by the visitor center to say hi to Frankie the tortoise!
